President
of New Jersey Stonewall Democrats since 2006, she is also Political
Director of The Gender Rights Advocacy Association of NEW JERSEY
(GRAANJ). A founding member, she served as Vice-Chair of Garden
State Equality from 2006-2008. Active nationally, she serves on
the Executive Board of National Stonewall Democrats as Chair of
the DNC Relations Committee, as well as the Advisory Board of
the National Center for Transgender Equality.
In 2004 she was a recipient of the New Jersey Personal Liberty
Fund's Honors Award, and was New Jersey's only "out"
elected GLBT voting delegate to the 2004 Democratic National Convention
and its first transgender delegate. Following Victory 2005, she
served on Governor - elect Jon S. Corzine's Labor and Workforce
Development Transition Advisory Board. In 2006 she received the
Trenton Gay and Lesbian Civic Association (TGLCA) - Triangle Award.
She was named to Hillary Clinton's National LGBT Steering Committee
in 2007 and served as a member of the NEW JERSEY delegation to
the Democratic National Convention in 2008.
She is currently a member of the New Jersey Civil Unions Review
Commission and the Edison Township Municipal Alliance. She has
served on the Board of Congregation Beth Mordecai in Perth Amboy
for over 25 years. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers
University and an MBA from Pace University.
She and her late wife Carol were Princesses in the Imperial Court
of New York where they helped recruit corporate sponsors to support
the Courts charitable work. Widowed in 2001, she takes one day
at a time, enjoys spoiling her two grandchildren and wishes they
can enjoy a life where people learn to communicate, take responsibility
for their actions or inactions, and have respect for each other!
