From
the moment he steps on stage you realize that there is no other
entertainer like Frank Marino. It's not just his campy voice,
his smoothly electric performance, or even his impeccable selection
of clever comedy material. It's his energy, which of course is
the key to putting on any show.
Most of
Frank Marino's popularity came about after he was served a five
million dollar lawsuit from the lady of comedy herself "Joan
Rivers" for his impression of her being maybe too good.
This brought him national press and attention that landed him
on the cover of the National Enquirer; featuring stories in
People Magazine, USA Today, Variety and ten Show Biz Magazine
covers. Along with all that he was featured on The Tonight Show,
Good Morning America, David Letterman, and a television special
with the father of TV, Milton Berle, not to mention his many
sitcom and motion picture cameo appearances.
After the
dust settled Frank became better friends with Joan than ever
and not only became a regular guest on her TV talk show but
a spokesperson for her new Gossip, Gossip, Gossip show. He's
also been seen on 27 commercials selling everything from shoes
to cars for GMF Motors.
Change
is a major factor in Frank Marino's success. Whenever Joan changes
her look, Frank is quick to pick up on it. He starts the show
with the straight hair style Joan wears and then progresses
into the showier more flamboyant Rivers. But more than just
hair and makeup Frank has had nine cosmetic surgery operations
to look like Joan Rivers, from a nose job to cheek and chin
implants. His motto is no pain, no gain. This has caused so
much controversy that Frank has done over thirty-three national
TV talk shows and hundreds of radio spots this year alone. Along
with an episode of Baywatch in which he convinces David Hasselhoff
to also get in drag.
As a performer,
Marino constantly strives to give his audience more than they
expect whether it's a dialogue, a nostalgic memory, or a chat
with someone in the crowd. The warmth and chemistry that flows
between him and his audience is indescribable. Frank Marino
is so well liked by his audiences that this year Entertainment
Today Magazine named him the Best Female Impersonator in Las
Vegas. This is because he takes total pride in his career.
Along with
all of this, Frank oversees a network of recording, film, and
entertainment concerns as president of Frank Marino Enterprises.
In addition to his regular projects like his annual calendar
through Landmark where a portion of the proceeds are donated
to AMFAR for AIDS research, just one of Frank's many charity
involvement's, Frank Marino Enterprises has created many unique
and original products.
Frank Marino
became the first Vegas headliner to travel on the information
highway with the creation of the Frank Marino website, www.frankmarino.com.
This 20 page website features information on Frank Marino and
La Cage along with never before seen photos, a home shopping
page, and gives fans the opportunity to ask questions and receive
personal replies.
During
his already overwhelming schedule, Frank Marino took time to
pen his autobiography entitled "His Majesty, the Queen."
This 288 page book tells Marino's life story and includes makeup
tips and beauty secrets, fashion advise, and exercise tips on
how to keep that "girlish figure," making this not
only an autobiography but a how-to-manual as well.
Although
Frank has a lot of business activities, it will always be comedy
that's his source of energy. He says. "There is no place
as exciting for me as to be on a stage performing for a live
audience".
