Roma
is recognized as one of the most outspoken and highly visible
members of San Francisco's notorious Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence,
Inc. For the past two decades Roma has been an activist/fundraiser
and champion of Free Speech, speaking publicly at demonstrations,
colleges and universities, on television, radio and in print
about various topics including human sexuality, homophobia and
the adult entertainment industry. Together with her Sisters,
Roma has been on the front lines in the war against HIV and
AIDS, raising over $1,000,000 for various HIV service and educational
organizations.
One of
San Francisco's most colorful personalities, and the self-proclaimed
"most photographed nun in the world, Roma is a talk show
host, MC/public speaker, writer, fundraiser and human rights
activist. She has appeared on television in movies, adult videos
and MTV Music videos, on local and national news and radio,
in magazines and newspapers everywhere. ROMA! can be seen annually
on the main stages of the LGBT Gay Pride Celebration, Folsom
Street Fair and countless events around the Country.
Roma's
involvement with the Imperial Court dates back to 1989 when
she jumped on the campaign trail with Emperor Jerry Coletti
and Empress Pat Montclaire. Since that time she has been honored
to serve more times than any other judge at the Mr. & Miss
San Francisco Pageant, beginning with the crowning of Miss Gay
San Francisco Donna Sachet (who would go on to become one of
the Court's most legendary and accomplished Empresses). Roma
is also a regular host/MC at the SF Investiture and several
other Imperial events throughout San Francisco.
