Nicole, International Chairman of the I.C.C., proclaimed 2012 as the Year of Our Servicemembers & Veterans within the International Court System. "Gay, Lesbian, Bisexual and Transgendered Canadians, Americans, and Mexicans have always been patriotic and proud of our great nations!" Chapter Courts are encouraged to reach out to veterans, their organizations, hospitals, projects and causes and support them by holding benefits, volunteering, etc. Courts are also encouraged to support ALL Servicemembers and Veterans, many who are homeless, have permanent disabilities or have recently returned from conflicts abroad. Special effort should be made to support our GBLT servicemember and veteran organizations; and recognize military personnel and veterans that are members of the ICS. Many of the GLBT servicemember & veteran organizations in the United States have just started up after the recent repeal of DADT and could use our help! This pamphlet includes descriptions of some of the veteran organizations, but, is not intended to be an all-inclusive list. The International Court System is working with Servicemembers United in the United States and the Canadian Forces Personal and Family Support Services through their Canadian Forces Hospital Comforts Program in Canada, to support our servicemembers and veterans. For more information about this year's fundraising effort and how you and your court can participate, please see our Servicemembers & Veterans pamphlet. Feel free to download our Servicemembers & Veterans trifold for this effort to help publicize our efforts in your court and throughout your community.
