March on Washington 2009

I am so proud to say that the March on Washington this weekend was quite a successful and loud statement - and proud that our very own Queen Mother, Nicole the Great, served as the National Co-Chair. We have some spectacular photos shown below. Additionally, CSPAN for the next 24 hours (or possibly less) is showing the Rally in DC, including Nicole's speech. This is proof of the Court System at work for you - and especially an example of the great leadership of our Queen Mother.

On Saturday Night, the Imperial Court of NY hosted a fabulous extravaganza "Marching for Equality in Heels", benefiting the Matthew Shepard Foundation. I understand that the event raised $15,000! Congratulations especially to TMISM Emperor Tony Monteleone, Empress Anne Tique and President of the ICNY, Emperor Gabriel Della Notte.

At the event, The International Jose Julio Sarria Civil Rights Awards were presented to Cleve Jones, Judy Shepard, Rev. Troy Perry, Lt. Dan Choi, Rea Carey, Earl Fowlkes, Marsha Botzer, Russell Roybal and David Mixner -- all of whom so graciously attended to accept the honors. I know there will be more postings about the weekend and photos on the website - like Lady Gaga arriving in style to the event! - so stay tuned.
