Oink Oink!! Here is my "Real" life in a nutshell:

My name is Dina Marie Aguilar. I was born on January 17, 1964. I was given up for adoption at birth. I was adopted by Clifford and Rebecca Aguilar when I was 18 months. I am their only child. I was born and raised in Long Beach. I graduated from Robert A. Millikan High School in 1982. From there I attended Cal State Long Beach. I graduated from the University of Phoenix with a degree in Business Management in 1995.

I have worked in a professional capacity since the age of 18. Some noted positions have been a Business Unit Manager at McDonnell Douglas, Logistics Manager at Toyota Motor Sales, U.S.A., Department Manager at Joann's, and an Insurance Agent with one of my current employers, Aflac. I am currently employed with Aflac as well as a retail chain, Fallas.

I am currently serving as a Board of Director on two non-profit 501c (3) organizations. The first being The Spanish American Institute and the second being The International Imperial Court of Long Beach, Inc. The Spanish American Institute was founded in 1908 and I believe is one of, if not the oldest "Hispanic" scholarship organizations in southern California. My father was the executive director for almost 30 years. His dedication was so great that he retired 2 days before his 80 birthday. I have served on this board for over 20 years and look forward to another 20. I have served as President twice. I am also serving on the Board of the International Imperial Court of Long Beach, Inc. I have included more detailed "court" information below.

I've been involved with the International Imperial Court of Long Beach, Inc. for over 15 years. I was brought up in the Court "old school" meaning I worked my way up from the bottom ranks to up Emperor. I was the FIRST elected lesbian Emperor of all Long Beach (Emperor 30). My campaign slogan was that Pigs would finally fly in Long Beach when a lesbian Emperor was elected (Hence - The Flying Pig!!) (Which I proudly wear/display to this day!). I actually added into my Emperor 30 protocol that I was "The 30 Years In The Making Flying Pig Emperor". I have been elected 3 times as Emperor of Long Beach (Emperor 30, 35, & 40). My Reign 30 Empress was DeShannon. Reign 35 was Nikki Coldwater. Reign 40 is Boom Boom. I am the FIRST Emperor in Long Beach (Male or Female) to have accomplished this 3-Time feat.

Two events that I personally have been putting on and hold very dear to my heart are: My Annual Christmas In August Show and My Annual Hospice Christmas Caroling. Every dollar raised at the Show goes towards buying gifts for our Long Beach Hospices. We sing Christmas songs to each patient and give them a gift bag full of presents. This is a very surreal and humbling experience and I look forward each year to doing them.

In closing, I've been very blessed with my "adopted" family as well as my "court" family. I have made many friends over the years and look forward to making many more. I can honestly say that I have more "real" friends in the court system then I do in my other. Had it not been for my court family, I never would have met so many wonderful people that share the same "volunteer" interests as I do and most importantly met my soul mate Brenda. We are engaged, and will be married next year.
