My Name is Paula Butner. I was born in Fairbanks, Alaska on August 15th. I spent much of my childhood in the bar industry as my parents owned two bars. My parents showed me at a very young age the importance of helping those less fortunate. During holidays they would prepare large holiday meals, always opening the doors to anyone, including homeless people or anyone in need. I've enjoyed many employment opportunities over the years, including my most recent position working in the floral industry.

I have been married to Ken Butner for 27 years. We have 2 kids, Christina and John and most recently a new son-in-law, Tyler. I have not yet become a grandmother. However I am blessed with a wonderful English Bulldog as my grand dog. I enjoy crocheting and often make blankets, scarfs and other things for fund raising events in the community.

I was first introduced to the court system from a former Empress of Alaska, Misty Dawn, who regularly entertained audiences in the Anchorage area. She initially got me interested in becoming part of the Imperial Court Of All Alaska (ICOAA) about 15 years ago. Since then, I've been a member of the board and held the position of Secretary as well. I've held the position in our community of Duchess, Imperial Crown Princess, and Empress XXXVI of All Alaska. I've recently been honored with the title of Honorary Empress of Hawaii. I look forward to the opportunities and challenges this coming year. After all, life is about new friends, new places and new opportunities.
