Robert Ty Flores started his court career in Boise Idaho in the early 80's. He was Emperor 3 in 1982 and had a very successful year, traveling and making numerous friends throughout the circuit. He staying involved for the next 5 yrs until he moved to Denver, Colorado in 1988. Once in Denver, he started his climb to the top. He started working with CGRA and the Denver Mr. Charlie’s program. He was selected as Denver’s Mr. Charlie in Jan. and Nov. in 1990. He then went on to become Mr. Gay Latino in 1992 which allowed him to work closely with the Hispanic community of Denver and help promote unity with other organizations. All this time he was very active with ICRME and was appointed Prince Royal 22.
All his hard work and dedication finally paid off when he was elected the 29th Emperor of ICRME. He along with his Empress had the most successful reigns ever. They raised over 125,000 that year, an amount yet to be beat. His travels allowed him to stay in touch with old friends and meet many more new ones. After stepping down as Emperor, Robert has stayed very involved with the community. He was on the Mayors Council for 2 yrs from 2004-2006. And he has been bestowed Life Titles in other cities including Salt Lake City and Spokane.
Away from his involvements, Robert work at one of Denver’s best gay friendly eating establishments, Hamburger Mary’s, which is very active in letting ICRME use its facilities for fundraising events. He has been there since the opening and gained lots of support for his fundraising activities with his friendliness and outgoing personality this way.
