John
Carrillo, Emperor XXVIII after Norton of San Francisco
A
California native born in Hanford California and raise in
the area known to us as Silicon Valley, John moved to San
Francisco in 1988 were he became quickly involved with the
community and the hospitality industry. In his various business
positions, John has proven to be an active advocate for corporate
partnership with the LGBT community and looks out for our
community’s best interests.
John
became involved in the Imperial Court of San Francisco in
1999 and was elected Emperor in the year 2000. He was known
as The Millennium Latin Emperor. John is and has served as
the Co-Chairman of the Imperial Council of San Francisco since
2001.
John
has held several other board positions with other groups in
San Francisco such as MAX, Men’s Associated Exchange,
a men’s social group promoting a positive identity for
gay men within the community, The San Francisco Gay and Lesbian
softball League and The Golden State Gay Rodeo Association.
In
his spare time, you will find John taking an active role participating
in a variety of diverse community events both locally and
internationally. He will often been seen competing on the
International Gay Rodeo circuit or on a softball field playing
ball. He is known for encouraging others to get involved and
break down barriers.
