Heir Apparent to Empress Nicole the Great President of the International Court Council Empress Panzi New York City, New York Thom Hansen H: 203.956.5725 15 Park Street #7 C: 203.912.3736 Norwalk, CT 06851 Email: NYCTH@aol.com Thom (Panzi) has been a GLBT activist since the early 1970’s, working with and volunteering for organizations such as Christopher Street Liberation Day Committee (the predecessor to Heritage of Pride when the Gay Pride Parade was a March and not a Parade!); GMHC and the Arts Project of Cherry Grove, to name a few. He served as Executive Director of CRI (Community Research Initiative – a grass roots HIV/AIDS Research Organization) in the early 90’s. He has participated in nearly every March on Washington and most demonstrations in NYC since 1970. He has helped raise funds for and participated in countless benefits, fund-raisers and shows over the past 30+ years. His most notable achievement, however, has been as the Founder and Organizer of the Invasion of the Pines on July 4th Weekend, the first year being 1976 – the Bi-Centennial. In terms of trans-gender, Panzi began in 1971, performing professionally in clubs throughout New York City. Retiring from the professional circuit in 1977, Thom continued to use his unique cross-dressing talents to help raise money for worthwhile organizations, and fighting for trans-gendered rights. Panzi has appeared in a few films, several Off-Broadway Shows, and most notably on Cable Television, as the wacky neighbor, Mary Ellen, on the Brini Maxwell Show. Professionally, Thom owned a successful Real Estate Management and Brokerage Firm for 10 years, and is currently a Vice President in the International Division of a major direct marketing firm. Panzi joined the Imperial Court of New York in 1993, and has served on the Board Directors over the years as Board Member and president for three terms, as well as the Reigning Empress of New York in 1998-1999. He has served on the International Court Council as Executive Secretary since 1997, and looks forward to continuing to serve the ICC in the future.
