October 11, 2013 - Cincinnati, OH Coronation:

I had to be at the San Diego airport very early so Prince Kaiden picked me up at 430 a.m., so I really didn’t sleep the night before.  My flight had a stop in Salt Lake City prior to landing at the Northern Kentucky Airport. When I arrived at baggage claim there were about a dozen Court members from Cincinnati to welcome me- I was very touched by their kindness and wonderful greetings.  It was a great start for my five day state Visit.

We left the airport and crossed the bridge into Ohio.  I had never been to the city of Cincinnati, but when Jose named me her ”Heir, 1st in line of succession” at the San Francisco ceremony decades ago she named Cincinnati’s Empress II Kate Central Parks Way 2nd in line (followed by the beautiful Empress CoCo LaChine).

Did you know that Cincinnati is famous for its pork rinds, skyline chili, and their sports teams: the Bengals and the Reds, and the huge tall wigs that almost all their drag queens wear?   The city has seven hills with different neighborhoods and just two years ago elected their first openly gay City Councilman.  I met the Chair of their Pride Parade which celebrates their 40th anniversary this year!  Though it has a somewhat conservative reputation, Cincinnati is becoming more accepting of its GLBT citizens.

When we arrived at the hotel room there was a most beautiful flower arrangement, lots of fruits and drinks and snacks.  I took a short siesta before we headed out to one of the very best steakhouses ever- Jimmy G’s and the owner himself- five star Chef Jimmy Gibson- came out to greet me.  He was really – likeable and fun (and a former Navy guy!!).  Wow, what a meal for Nicole Diamond, Daddy Wayne, Zsa Zsa and I.  Then it was off to the In Town Show at the Cabaret Night club We met the fabulous Penny Tration and Mystique (of “I’m from Chicago” fight with Morgan fame) Summers from RuPaul’s Drag Race Mystique did my makeup for the weekend!

Cincinnati is a wonderful city with some of the kindest and most hospitable people ever I also discovered the world of “BIO DIVAS” and “Coochy Cream”… BIO Divas are women (straight, bi and lesbian) who perform as drag queens and I fell in love with them and the Drag Kings of Cincinnati’s Court.  As for “Coochy Cream”… hum…  well, check out one of the Divas on her Facebook:  Pure Romance by Brocha… let her explain it!!!  It was really nice spending time with Twinkle, Tree and Rob of New York and with some of my Canadian favorites.

The Monarchs, Emperor Ed and Empress Ginger Snap reign was almost two years and made the cover of the popular gay magazine CNKY Scene The Coronation Ball was very entertaining and the dinner was very good.  I presented the Court of Cincinnati with a special” International Court Commendation” for their outstanding achievements and changes that they have made.   This is a great and productive Court- they have given out about a million dollars in the last 22 years!  I awarded permanent titles and awards to Bella Harlow, Molly and Katy Little, Little Dude Tate, Rex Rayburn, Zsa Zsa, Ed and Ginger Snap, Shanice, Brooklyn and Freeda… all very deserving.

It was my honor to preside over the Coronation and Crowning of their new Monarchs- Emperor XXII Keith and Empress XXII Freeda The Victory Brunch was lots of fun and a $600 donation was made to the newly established Jose Julio Sarria Youth Scholarship I truly enjoyed myself in Cincinnati, and now off to Toronto and then Portland!

Journal entry No. 4

By my hand, Nicole, Q.M.I

Next state visits:
Toronto, Ontario, Canada Coronation, Portland, Oregon, and Los Angeles/Hollywood.
